Oil leaks on a 5.7L hemi. Just discovered that I have an oil leak. The oil pan is wet with oil and if the jeep sits long enough I see spots on the ground. I haven't dove into investigating it yet. I'm just curious if anyone with the hemi has had an oil leak and where the leak was. I know if its the oil pan or timing cover it will cost a fortune

Beyond that you need diagnostic equipment (i.e. a dealer or well-equipped shop) to know what the problem actually is. If the check engine light was on, you may be able to get some information by turning the key from OFF to RUN three times

Not a lot of miles on the rig, but it's 6 years old. I picked up a belt yesterday, and thought I could do the job in just a couple of minutes. Didn't happen.
